The pictures express the coincidental encounters of everyday objects. They are more than they appear when they don’t function as they are supposed to. My observation exposes the objects' vulnerability and they seem comical and crazy. And because I get asked often: Nothing is staged, the objects just find me.
Two years ago I startet concepting with graphic designer Paul Bowler in early 2011. Editing followed just one rule: Every page should be a new confronting, confusing view. Out of every juxtaposition results an unexpected association, and we avoided repetition of motifs or even colour schemes. So it was clear to us that it should be a pure and simple book, much like a children's picture book. The only suspension are some black pages, where the index is hidden. We decided to show the pictures all over the pages, right from the first to the last. We wanted it to look like a magazine, so paper and cover have a high gloss shimmer. For the double page it is important to open the book easily, so it comes with American binding.
