Seine Plakate werben nicht nur, sie kommentieren die jeweiligen Filme. Sie sind das Ergebnis einer eingehenden Beschäftigung mit den Charakteren, der Handlung, mit dem Kern und den besonderen Qualitäten eines Films. Hillmann kamen dabei seine außerordentlichen zeichnerischen Fähigkeiten zugute, aber er arbeitete auch mit Fotomontage, um das Filmthema im Plakat fortzusetzen. Diesem Anspruch widmete er sich völlig unabhängig vom Zeitgeschmack, indem er Flächen auf neue Weise strukturierte, Gestaltungs- und Freifläche komponierte und die Typografie als Teil des Bildes verstand.</span><br />

n <i>Paperwork and the Will of Capital</i> vereint Taryn Simon (*1975) – eine der originellsten und anspruchsvollsten Konzeptkünstlerinnen unserer Zeit – Geopolitik, Gartenbauwissenschaft und die Kunst des Stilllebens, um zu untersuchen, wie die Inszenierung von Macht erschaffen, ausgeführt, vermarktet und erhalten wird. Bei der Unterzeichnung politischer Abkommen, Verträge, Vereinbarungen und Dekrete, die einige der wichtigsten Belange unserer Zeit festlegen, werden mächtige Männer von Blumenarrangements flankiert, die dazu angetan sind, die Bedeutung der Unterzeichnenden und der von ihnen vertretenen Institutionen zu vermitteln. Simon stellte die Arrangements anhand von Archivaufnahmen bedeutender Ereignisse nach und fotografierte sie; dann trocknete und presste sie die Blumen für ein Herbarium. Dieses prächtige Buch, teils Naturstudie, teils Metapher, zeugt von einem kunstvollen und faszinierenden Prozess künstlerischer De- und Rekonstruktion.</div>

Die ikonischen<em> One Minute Sculptures</em> von Erwin Wurm (*1954 in Bruck an der Mur) laden Ausstellungsbesucher ein, mit vorhandenen Objekten, den Anweisungen des Künstlers folgend, kurzlebige Skulpturen zu realisieren. Levitieren, Luft anhalten und an Spinoza denken, sich wegwerfen oder ein Terrorist sein ... für eine Minute. Kurz, aber doch lange genug, um die Banalität, die Lächerlichkeit und die Austauschbarkeit dieses Zusammentreffens von Individuen und Objekten auf eine philosophische Ebene zu heben und etwa Fragen über die Divergenz unserer Realitäten zu stellen. Diese Konstellationen sind soziale Plastiken, die durch verblüffende Einfachheit und Stringenz gleichzeitig verunsichern und verführen. Diese Publikation listet zum ersten Mal alle One Minute Sculptures auf, die Erwin Wurm in mehr als 20 Jahren international realisiert hat, und zeigt exklusiv die weiter-geführte Arbeit für den Österreichischen Pavillon auf der Biennale von Venedig 2017.</div>

The book – made in a close collaboration between Jonathan Anderson, Andrew Bonacina and OK-RM – acts as an alternative exhibition space in which the pairings and combinations that unfold within The Hepworth’s galleries come in to play with images from Anderson’s collaborative photographic projects with Jamie Hawkesworth. The book object comprises a series of interleaved sections amassing 142 pages and featuring works by Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Constantin Brancusi, Eileen Gray, Sarah Lucas, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Helmut Lang and many more, alongside contributions from Anderson’s own collections.</span><br />

The book is made up of an indexed flow of works punctuated by a series of commissioned texts from curators, scientists and theorists.
