ArtReview is an international contemporary art magazine based in London.

Each year Art Review publishes its Power 100 list of the great and powerful in the art world. To go with the list, the magazine always commissions a piece of art for the front cover. This year they invited US-based artist Paul Chan to create an image; yet the front cover appearing now on newsstands is blank.
What happened? Seems the editorial team had second thoughts about Chan’s cover contribution. Worrying that too many people would find the cover offensive, they censored themselves. Design director John Morgan proposed putting the magazine in a bag or covering the image with a sticker, but instead the work remains unseen, not even appearing inside the issue.
