'HOUSE WEAR is a multidisciplinary exhibition and publication that address the condition of impermanence in everyday life and its effect on contemporary design. Artists, writers, architects and designers explore how this relationship affects the way we live, and the impact of nomadic behavior on our perception of house/home.
Tendency towards nomadic behavior can be seen as either predetermined (out of necessity) or a process of discovery (the result of choice). The first often follows a traditional route whereby participants adopt a tribe mentality. The social structure focuses around kinship, and notions of the habitual, ritual and ceremony become relevant. The second is self-initiated behavior conducted by an individual, characterised by transience, unplanned wandering, and often, self-sufficiency. Both emphasise portability and functionality.
HOUSE WEAR contributors include Dylan Martorell, Ash Kilmartin, ffiXXed, Sibling, tin&ed, Adelle Mills, Nicholas Nicholas, Anna MacKenzie, Sophia Mitchell, Yahna Fookes, WORTHIS, Beata Wilczek, Sri Spong, New Friends and MANY MANY.'
